Question about drain tube???
Surgery was on Thursday, have the drain tube in, it looked good at hospital. But last nite and all day today I have drainage around the tube, nothing seems to be going into the bulb thingy, is drainage around the tube site normal, it is leaking and I am always having to keep paper towels over the bandages. Thanks in advance. Also is it TRULY, REALLY possible to drink 64 oz at this point? I am no where near that. Shhhh don't tell them that though!!
I had tons of drainage around the tube. Nothing went in the bulb thing. I had to keep gauze over the draint tube hole to prevent leaking on my clothes. I guess this happens and they weren't concerned. It slowed up about day 4-5 (about the time I got the tube out). Good Luck every day it gets better.
Thanks guys, I called and Dr. Gavin (Dr. Benn is in Europe) said that someone should have showed me how to strip the tube incase there is a blockage, which is what he thought was the problem, so he told me how to strip it and there has been no more leakage!!! I think the nurses were overwhelmed while I was in the hospital, I didn't think I got the attention I should've, at one point I had to listen to my IV beeping for over 40 minutes before someone would come and help. (and yes I turned my nurse's call light on right away) Anyways at least I didn't have to drive up there for someone to help me, my husband managed to play doctor!!!
