Thumbs up for Nordic walking!!
During the Lodge, we had a change to try Nordic walking.. and RP and I went for it! I had always seen people on the side of the road with ski poles and wondered what it was all about.
It was an absolutely blast! Better on the joints... AND it works out your ARMS and chest! It's a bigger workout...but it doesn't feel like it! The instructor told me about some Nordic walking groups in the area, so I am going to sign up for one.

The poles have 'boots' which are the little feet at the bottom and then the handle where you can slip your hands in.

I just read the information from the link you provided. OMG, the average person can increase their workout by 10-20% by JUST ADDING THE POLES? This is for me! Plus...

So, did you, or are you going to go out and get some poles? I totally want to try this. It sounds like there is a definate technique to using them, do you think watching a video online would suffice, or do you think you should really have someone show you in person?
