$108 pre-made pre op diet or do it on my own?

I found out at my dietitian consult this past week that I need to do a liquid pre-op diet two weeks before surgery. They gave me a website ( http://www.bariatricdiet.com )and the plan costs $108. It does have a sample menu to use. Has anyone else used this, or did you do your own liquid pre-op diet at a lower cost and had the same results? They they want me to lose at least 10 lbs on the 14 day plan.

Definitely do your own. My surgeon required a 10 day liquid diet. You could have between 3-5 Slim Fast, Ensure, Boost or Carnation Instant Breakfast a day. Then you can have all the non-caloric liquids you want. The first 3 days are the hardest. Good luck to you!

Do it yourself!!!

Do it yourself.  I was allowed up to 5 or 6 glasses of milk w/ Carnation Instant Breakfast (I used the sugar free) and an unlimited amount of calorie free drinks, sugar free jello and sugar free popcicles.  During my ten day pre-op liquid diet I lost 12 lbs.

I did that plan and I would not recommend it. I didn't use at least a thrid of the stuff that came with it.

I wouldn't recommend it either. I'm currently just finishing it up - my surgery is tomorrow.  There wasn't even enough protein powder in it, the broth was horrible tasting and the pudding was bland and clumpy.  You could do much better on your own, for a lot, lot cheaper.
