stomach/esophagus bile question

Has anyone else been told after they had the rny or another wls that it was a great decision to have the surgery, not because of all of the reasons you thought but because you had a large amount of bile in your stomach or esophagus that if left untreated could result in cancer?  This was told to me second hand after my surgery and I have been looking into it online.  Apparently, or from what I understand, pepcid and other antacids do not treat the bile issue, just acid issue.  I didn't have the acid reflux issue really bad but apparently, 2 of 4 symptoms of this I had and never connected to it (continuious cough and wheezing or asthma).  I just wanted to bring this to your attention if you are thinking of having the surgery and may have some of these issues and also if you were given same info as I was after surgery, would love to hear from you.  If this was too much info, sorry.

I have never heard that, but then again I didn't get the RNY. Interesting to hear though.
