Restriction?

Good morning...

I know, this is a big topic and its been discussed many times...
But, I am going to bring it up again and please don't flame....

I got a fill last week, I am now at 8cc's in a 10cc lap band. I did liquids for 48 hrs, soft 48 hrs and then could go to regular foods...

It seem ok most the time, eating slowing.. small amnts... etc, no problems with liquids as long was little sips... but  I am not able to even eat a half cup.... and I feel it... sometimes only two bites... this am even my coffee is bothering me, sipping water during my workout was bothering me...

Its also that time of the month, which i know can help make the band tighter with me anyway..

I cant really leave work today, no same day appts, or asking for a one hour lunch and my 30 mins wont give me time to go and get back... and i don't want to jump the gun and have a slight unfill if I don't need it... I can go tomorrow because I have the day off... i dont want them to say I have to use sick time to go, I am 9 months no sick time lol

I know that no one here is a medical person and they cant give medical advise, etc... I remember all the slam answers to other posts... I only ask for support and kindness...  and suggestions..
and I know that if I call my nurse she will talk to me and will be kind and leave it up to me... she is very cool... and tell me to pop in if I want a slight unfill...

Thanks for listening and for any suggestions, I know in the past I have been tighter in the beginning and loosened up, but I am not sure I remember feeling this tight..

I'm not a band person but in my opinion I'd wait to see how you feel tomorrow.....I wish I could go back to 1/2 cup of food and be satisfied.....:)

I can't imagine getting slammed or flammed for posting on this subject.  You might want to start posting your band questions on the LAP BAND forum]

It's very difficult to get to your BAND SWEET SPOT.  And it never lasts.  When my band was too tight I hated coffee...kinda weird but that was the way I could tell.  Also, too tight will sometimes give you difficulty sleeping with night cough or reflux.  

For me my band is almost always tighter in the AM.  Also, the first couple bites on a meal can make me feel really full, but I know I need to eat more than two bites so I'm just patient, wait a few minutes, then I can usually finish what I want.  You have to listen to the band, listen to your body, and learn to know when a fill or unfill is right for you.  Eventually you will know better than a medical person.

If you are having difficulty sleeping, I would say that you need a slight unfill.  If you sleep well, then you need some other signs.

Think about what types of foods are you eating and can only get in 1/2 cup. Are they dence (chicken, tuna) or soft (yogurt). Are you staying with that satisfied feeling for a few hours or do you have to skip the next meal because you are still feeling full? These are questions my dr asked me.

Depending on how you answer the questions you most likely need a slight unfill. From what you said I think waiting for tomorrow should be ok.

Thank you all for your replies, I am sorry, I thought I was posting on the lap band board...
I don't post much.. as you can tell
and yes, there can be some sad flaming and comments and so I don't ask questions often
I usually just read what is posted and lately I haven't done that....
I just haven't been so tight that I couldn't keep fluids down before...
I have eaten a small protein bar and wasn't sure that was going to stay down and it has
I seem to feel a little better...

Soon will try fluids again.... I would say that I have been able to eat about 1/4 to 1/2 cup, but I am use to eating 1 cup a meal before this fill... and I was told that was a good amnt

I want to do it healthy... I know its not healthy to eat too little either...
I do exercise 75-90 mins 6 days a week...
I think I will meet with the nurse today, because I can get an hour lunch and just see what she says, because I am even having a hard time swallowing my spit... and I know my body may just need to adjust... and she may thing so-and feel to give it until tomorrow... which I would be ok with....

again, I do thank you all for your input, I do appreciate it..
support and feedback is a wonderful thing... don't get me wrong I have gotten it from people but there are times when there is flaming... or comments that hurt...

There is really no excuse for flaming on a support board.  Some people handle things differently than others - doesn't necessarily make one way "righter".

My suggestion is to block the flamers.  Who needs 'em?
