Rant-UTI

I had been sailing along all these months,trying to mind my own business. Then last week I get this irritated feeling while using the restroom. I think oh great I have a bladder infection. Next day POOF it was gone and I was back to normal.

Then it happened!

Woke up yesterday feeling that "sting" again! Not gone by this morning. Called my PCP to come in and do a Urine test. Finally they get it all set up and at 330 I am there. Home by 430 with antibiotics in hand. Why can't they just believe me when I say this is what is wrong, give me the meds and let me be on my way lol but, no I have to go in- it is all a scam! The all mighty buck.

Made sure he gave me ones that would work with us wonderful by -passed,don't malabsorbe ,losing weight by the bus loads (together) people.

Between the PCP and the RX people they came up with one that should work. However! They are taking me off all my vitamins for 5 days. The drug has to be taken 2 hours before or 6 hours after magnesium or aluminum containing antacids or vitamins/minerals. Well that pretty much sums up our daily med plan. Doc says I should be ok for 5 days. I will only take my multi vitamin two times a day within the guide lines of  the antibiotic. So, at least I will get some form of vitamin in!

Will go to the store tomorrow and pick up some yeast infection stuff because, I am sure that will be the next bout to deal with LOL I have not had a bladder infection in 24 yrs!! why oh why meeee!

Ok, done ranting,moaning,whining etc...

Just an fyi... One it is the doctors liecense that is on the line so if you had a reaction to any meds prescribed via phone you could sue. Two.. I see alot of people coming in for possible UTI and it turns out that they don't have one. PLUS... Why should a doc treat patients for free... Would you go to work and just do what you do all day with out pay?

I guess some people don't see the sarcasm in parts of my post. I am an educated woman and know all about the Doctors license etc.. Guess I learned that in the medical courses I took in college too. I never said anything about free. I had already paid my 25 dollar co-pay at the door, I was already charged for the UI test, He did not even see me. He talked to the RX guy and himself. I paid well enough money for the non- doctor seen visit, Thank you very much.

You have been in my thoughts the last few days due to the flooding up in your area.  So sorry to hear you have to go through the dreaded UTI thing- they truly stink!!  I'm glad your doc and pharmacest had a chance to talk and choose the right anti-biotic- that is so important!  Feel good and keep your chin up!

I think it is natures way of slowing me down!

The flood waters are going down a bit. We got approx 16 more inches of snow this week,which has kept the temp cold,allowing for slow melt off (this is good). Rumor has it we will crest again mid April. Everyone is still on guard but some are returning to their homes/apartments. Things will get better,as time trickles on.

I will be going back to work come Monday! Can't wait to see the smiles on the faces of all the students again. Then it will take a couple weeks to get them back on track. That process will be disturbed due to Spring break! Shakes head,can not win for losing LOL
