My Experience
Angela,
Thank you so much for sharing this for everyone. It is true that complications are not common, but I know that this will make you even more strong than you already are. You are going to look back on this and be so glad that you took the plunge. Especially feeling so much better after the weight comes off. I am very proud of you!

I am going into Surgery with the same Dr. in less than 2 weeks and I am still interested in reading your story, every person is diffrent and we each just hope it goes well, It just seems yours was a more difficult Journey but lets hope its a Easier Journey from this point on for you and your family! Wow, you sure did start off rough. I was wondering why you were in the hospital longer than the norm. Sounds like everything is on the mend and you're doing better each day. Best wishes as you continue to heal.

Wow Angela,
I am so glad that you are okay. I am pre-op less then 1 week with Dr. Pierce and I am very glad that you posted your experience. I almost didn't read it, but I am too curious of a person not to. It helped me to see that Dr. Pierce is as good as I already believed. Did they ever tell you WHY you were bleeding so much??? It is wonderful that your hubby was so supportive. I hope that you are feeling better everyday and keep us posted....

Look at your pre-op weight loss---way to go! Dr. Pierce is a good guy. We kept asking about WHY I was bleeding, but never really got a good answer---or not one that I remember! I think the answer is that even he didn't know, sometimes things just happen, but he monitored me closely to make sure we didn't need to reoperate. Thank goodness! In one of his many conversations with my husband, he said that any surgeon can do the surgery, it's the after care or "what if" times when the surgeon really becomes important. We got to know him VERY well! He even came into the bathroom as I was finishing to look at all the blood in the toilet. I was so embarrased, but hey this guy has to have a strong stomach, he's a surgeon AND he's seen me naked!!!! Best of luck to you!!!
