An update on me
Hi everyone. I've not been around much lately. But I wanted to give you an update.
I'm now 4 months out. Since surgery, I have lost 81 pounds. I'm now down a total of 102 pounds since I started my weight loss pre-op.
I'm at 195 pounds and I'm thrilled to not see the 200s on the scale anymore. I'm in a size 16 bottom (down from a 24) and an XL top.
I've finally gotten my energy back but with that came sleeplessness. Only getting about 4 hours a night if I'm lucky. So the lack of sleep is kind of cancelling the increase in energy out unfortunately.
Last night, in celebration of reaching 100 lbs lost, I threw out all my "big" underwear. I did save one pair because when I compared them to my new ones, there was about an extra 4 inches of fabric.
I seem to be losing very fast but I'm following my doctor's diet. My surgeon is absolutely thrilled and says I'm doing everything right. My bariatric group therapist says that rapid weight loss like mine correlates with later regain of my excess weight. I don't really get that because I'm following the rules and i'm not compulsive about it. And don't they say to maximize your weight loss while you can? Has anyone else gotten flack for losing "too fast"?
So that's what's up with me. My next weight goal is 179 so that I'm classified as overweight and not obese anymore.
Thanks for being such a great place to come for support!
It's so good to hear from you. We were just saying....Sure, now that Anna has a man in her life, she's dissing us!!

Good health to you.

Highest: 349

Surgeon's Goal: 189
My Goal: A healtier happier me!!
2014 update...regained but haven't lost faith.
Congratulations on your success! Way to rock that tool!! I was sorry to read about the sleeplessness, but know where you are coming from. Hopefully that will improve in the near future.
I received a little flak about losing too fast in the beginning, but my loss has slowed significantly, so am not receiving it anymore. Everyone loses at their own rate, and as long as you are following the rules and your doc isn't concerned I say be happy for yourself!!
Hope to see you soon!
Reenie
I just hit 160 lbs off and still have to pinch myself! People everywhere comment on how good I look. Amazing that I still feel a bit like the fat guy. That part really hasn't gone away. Sick, I know! See you at Eagan this week?
May be at Eagan. My boyfriend is supposed to go to a meeting on Saturday morning so I'll have his son. I'm not sure how Tony would do if I brought him. He's not real cuddly (20 months) and is constantly bouncing off the walls. We have not done anything outside of the house alone together yet (Rob is always with us). Maybe we can do a buzz through so you can all admire me.

As long as you're eating as you should and taking your vitamins and having your checkups...all will be well weight-wise.
Congrats on your success!
Lori J.
It's better to be imperfectly happy than perfectly unhappy.
You are doing an amazing job!!! You must feel like a new woman. I can only imagine what you are feeling. Congratulations on getting under 200.
Hmmm...group must be very interesting on Friday nights. Like others have said, I would just make sure to do what your surgeon thinks is best. Isn't it hard to get mixed advice - kind of makes you think you're going crazy!
I hope to see you tomorrow, but understand if it doesn't work with the little guy! I'm glad that things are going well for you and the "new man"!
Stephanie
Hope to see the new you soon!!!
