Several things in my life lately have combined to put me in a rather pissy mood.  It's very UNLIKE me to spend so much time feeling negative - and I'm hoping it's situational, rather than chemical.  There are a number of things I could identify to blame this on, but rather than dwell on them, I thought I'd ask -

What do YOU do (WITHOUT spending $$$) to pull yourself out of such a mood?

Sweet Darla, my best defense against the pissys, is, I fake it till I make it!! I walk around with a big ole silly grin, acting almost giddy. It ****** other people (the REALLY negative ones) off, which, in turn, makes me smile!!
Honey think Marco, twirly, swirly, twitchy, and itchy!!!!
Big hugs to you!!!

Walk, Walk, Walk...It really clears your head.  You can come to a lot of solutions just by walking alone and thinking things through.  I'm thinking it situational.  You've got friends too.

Personally, when I'm in a mood like that, it's usually because I'm tired and overwhelmed, so if I can, I take a nap!  I know it's not always possible, and more often than not it isn't possible, but just a little quiet time alone usually helps!

I can do this, I can do this, I can do this - AND SO CAN YOU!!

Napolean Dynamite baby!  Or my next all time stupid comedy Better Off Dead. If you're at work, watch a clip or two on youtube.

Have you been outside yet? It's so pretty out, take a few REALLY deep breaths of the fresh air.

If that fails, break a pencil or  rip some paper. That helps relieve tension for me.

I find that reorganizing something signifgant helps me.  Like cleaning out and moving around everything in my kitchen.  Or moving all of the living room furniture around.  The 'new' surroundings give me new perspective and a new start.  With the bonus of things getting cleaned that tend to get neglected.

Darla

Well, when I am feeling down I think about receiving yet another fabulous Darla hug!  How are you at hugging yourself?  ....OK, then, onto other ideas...I find that taking a vigorous walk outdoors as soon as it is convenient seems to help.  Maybe going outdoors serves to remind me that life goes on, no matter how many people have pissed me off on a given day.

I have also found that unburdening my troubles onto someone I trust is another biggie.  I have tremendous respect for my friends who can listen to me **** moan, ***** and groan without running away.

Yet another thing is that I like to make bread, especially the hand-kneading part.  In order to avoid simply feeding my emotions I do have to give most of the bread away, though, which usually provides some positive validation from grateful recipients.

Good luck and big, squishy hugs,

RP

I organize an area in the house that has been neglected and I start to feel better. The coat closet, the kitchen pantry, the junk mail pile....

Or I find an activity with my kids what are 2 and 4 to change my mood. Even if it's coloring, face painting, blowing bubbles or playing barbies. LOL

I eat! Oh wait that was my old life!

I hope you are off to a coffee this weekend - that should help you my dear to see your friends and get out and vent a little.

When it feels like the weight is on you just your shoulders - remember my dear we are all here for you and cheering you on.  You have been our ray of sunshine when we need it and so shine on girl shine on.

Hugs. L
