Cold Medicines

I was wondering what everyone usually takes when they get sick with a cold.  I was suggested by a co-worker to take Cold-Eeze (primairly Zinc based medicine either in a dissolving lozenges or chewable gum format); does anybody know if this is allowed for us?

I have my book at home and didn't want to stop by prior to heading to the pharmacy on my way home from work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've had a hard time finding a cold medicine that has worked for more than an hour.   I triend mucenix once and thought I was going to have a heart attack.  I have mainly stuck with tylenol type of cold medicine.  I'm thinking the disolving lozenges would be a good place to start it would probably be absorbed better.

Sudafed (the pills are very small) and Mucinex-D are my favorites. Just don't get anything with Advil or ibuprofen in it.

Please spay and neuter your pets!
