I'm trying to write up some sort of chart to get all my info on one page.  Fluids, Meals, Meds, Dressing Change,,,,obviously, just one for the next few days to start.  I'm a little overwhelmed by the timing of everything.  I just got home from the hospital last night.  I still wasn't peeing enough, so they gave me lasix on Fri.  That worked like a charm, but by Sat. morning I was back to minimal and concentrated.  They gave me another dose on Sat. afternoon.  That also worked, then they finally took out the foley catheter and said if I could pee on my own, I could go home later.  So, I did.  But now, it's slowed down a lot again.  I'm keeping an eye on it.  I'm also having a ton of trouble with my JP drain.  Like somebody else wrote in recently, not very much is going into drain.  Most of it oozes around it.  If I slept on my side (that felt so good), I would be totally soaked through dressing, binder, nightgown, and sheets in 2 hrs..  A PA came and "played" with it yesterday.  She flushed it and stripped it.  They felt a clot was blocking it, so everything was going around it.  Then, later the doctor on call came by and shrugged.  Since that time, nothing is coming thru the tubing...clear as a bell, but comes around it still.  I have to change it regularly ( every 2-4 hrs).  They only gave us enough equipment to make it thru the night .  I'm supposed to have it removed on Tues, but I'm calling tomorrow if this keeps up.  What a mess.

So, 1 oz per 15 min?  Meals then in 1 hr as they are 4 oz?  The only thing I seem to be keeping on time is my liquid Vicodin.  Not missing that!!  Also, confused as to when I take my other meds.  Zantac, esp.  I feel very bloated...is this normal?  I really noticed it last night.  The binder felt really tight, but I hadn't changed  it.  I think it's a little better this morning.  Thanks all for any ideas.

They blew your belly up with gas! Of COURSE you're bloated! It'll take a GOOD week or two to work itself out.

Drink as much as you can, when you can.

Good luck!

Please spay and neuter your pets!
