Can I lick the spoon??
Ok I bet you were wondering what the heck this is gonna be about... since I am still on full liquid diet post op, I am just wondering if when cooking for my family I can lick a spoon off, lets says with spagetti sauce or sloppy joe mix? I know this is crazy but I am finding that I am a major spoon and finger licker and it's driving me crazy cuz I want to just lick the dang spoon, but since I already dumped once and don't want to go thru that any time soon I am just wondering if there is a certain amount of something you need in you to dump? I'm sure like everything else everyone is different but I was just wondering if there are other spoon lickers out there and they handle it just fine?? OK now you guys all now for sure I am crazy!!!!! Ha-ha!!
I was having a major salt craving post op and licked the salt off a tortilla chip or two. What did you eat /lick that made you dump? So far I've only dumped twice, (early out) both times were from yogurt. I have had yogurt since, and haven't had a problem. What makes people dump and the amount it takes varies person by person. No fun though. My experience was feeling nausiated and got all hot and sweaty feeling. I haven't had the diareah or puking type of dump, thank god. The feeling sick to my stomach and sweats was bad enough.

I had a couple ounces of Bean and Bacon Soup strained, my lovely hubby didn't look at the can and see that it wasn't low fat, oops!!! Anyways I think that was what it was from. I was sick for 2 hours, vomitted about 6-8 times and sweaty, was not a fun nite!!! But I was just wondering if a little tiny bit has ever made someone sick? I might just lick a chip tonite!!! That sounds great right about now!!!!!
Oh, I feel bad. I know I've shared that that's one of the soups I had pureed early on. For 1/2 C Campbells Bean and Bacon has 4g fat, 8g protein. I didn't think that was very high in fat. Did yours have more than that? Some people do have dump on higher fat though. Maybe it was just too rich this early out for you?
I know some programs give suggestions on how many carbs and fats to have in a day. I don't remember Fairview telling us though. Do you have anything from them about how many fat and carb grams to have a day or per meal?

I'd say be careful though because alot of those"sauces" have hidden sugars in them that could make you dump.. even with a lick or two. Also meat sauces tend to be fatty and some people dump because of fat, not just sugar. Like everything else, I guess you don't know till ya try it! Just remember even licks are added fat/calories that we need to work off during rapid weightloss!
