I have to agree... it just takes time and it will come. I'm 18 months out next week, and I'm just now starting to see whats REALLY in the mirror... you look and see the SMO person for so many years it just takes time to adjust... and to quit being disgusted with yourself whenever you look. Just my thoughts. Hang in there guy it gets easier... and then you'll find yourself in awe of it.... and appreciatation of course.

As long as we are sharing.....

Rick,

I have met you twice at Byerlys and I believe Paul was there both times.  It was interesting to see Darla's post about if she had not known you she would have never thought you overweight.  Darla sought me out, heck she even hugged me!  But I also wish I had spent a bit more time talking to both you and Paul but you were both so "normal" that I was a bit intimidated I think.  It is just amazing how weight affects both the person and those around them. I hope this made sense.  I look forward to getting to know everyone more at the coffees.  Sorry this doesn't address your own views of yourself but I wanted to share how a new person such as myself would "see" you and obese does not come into the equation.
