OT - Unemployed - COBRA running out
I'm currently unemployed and looking for work, but nothing's come up yet. I've been paying COBRA from a previous job and am about to exhaust that option (I can carry it through May). I've been told by a couple people now (one who works at BCBS) that I should apply for individual insurance and get a denial based on pre-existing conditions so that it would be easier to get on State care in case I don't have anything else in place by June 1st.
I've talked to an agent who sent me info on MCHA (MN Comprehensive Health Care). He said that he could send a letter to bypass my getting a denial for this based on my pre-existing conditions and that it could start June 1st. One deductible option has my premiums only about $25 more than my current COBRA payments.
I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has any other info on other plans I might qualify for? With my pre-existing conditions, I don't see myself getting approved for individual insurance. I'm still looking for work, but I need to be ready with something by June 1st.
Thanks!

Thanks...at least I have an option for now. I graduated with a degree in Health Information Technology, so am looking for a job in the medical records area (Release of Information, Coding, Abstracting, Scanning...just something!). However, the few callbacks I have had are all looking for someone with prior experience. You know that story. ;)
