Plastic Surgery and Medicaid and Medicare

I have been told that there are very few exceptions where Medicare and Medicaid will pay for plastic surgery.  Basically  it has to be life and death.  You must have documentation from your doctor for 1 year  with each rash and yeast infection, pictures must be taken, you must attempt to treat these rashes wtih creams or other treatments.  As far as the apron or stomach skin as it is called pulling on the back they have a whole list of things that must be done.  I don't foresee myself getting any other insurance any time soon.  I don't think I will win the lottery.  I wish I could marry a plastic surgeon but I don't see that happening either.  Just guestimating from what surgery my brother had I could loose between 10-15 pounds of skin in my abdomen.  I have no idea how much off my thighs and arms.  If anyone has any ideas of creative ways to pay for surgery please reply

Thank You

I don't think there's any real miracle way around the payment, but you could post to the PS forum on this site and perhaps those fine folks can help you out.

Good luck, Julie.

Some surgeons may offer financing plans - but I paid for mine out of my home equity line of credit.  That wasn't too creative, but it was an option for me.
