Migraine... Help!
Ok, so I have had a migraine for about 3 days now. I do have a call into Doc. But am curious as to what others do? I have suffered them for years, and usually took some serious drugs for them, but of course I cant now. Tylenol doesn't come close to cutting the pain. I'm wondering if anyone else suffers them, and if so is there something the Doc can prescribe that will help?

I get migraines every couple of months or so. I take Relpax when it's really bad (prescription) but usually Excedrin Migraine works pretty well - it's got acetominaphin (tylenol), aspirin and caffeine in it. Some caffeine helps, but staying extra hydrated also seems to help, so I drink a ton of water, especially to offset the caffeine. I hope you feel better!
I get migraines anywhere from 1-3 times a month. I currently take Imitrex (nasal spray), but I used to take Maxalt (which dissolved on my tongue). Has your Dr told you that you are not able to take migraine meds? I was told I could continue with mine.
Hope this helps and you get some relief very soon!
I've yet to have an episode since surgery (THANK GOD!!!), but...
Tylenol totally won't cut it! *Sometimes* Excedrin migraine would work, but this was the one specifically that I was told that I couldn't do anymore because of the NSAID portion of it.
My preferred weapon of choice is Imitrex. I used to take the pill form but switched to the nasal spray version after having surgery. I also hear there might be a dissolvable lozenge like form of it as well? I was told that taking Imitrex after surgery would be just fine. Would your doc let you do this? (Unless you're taking another medicine that would interact with it.)
Hope you get some relief!!! Good luck!!
