Really?? OMG this is happening really fast!!!  I am praying to God all the time, doing hail Mary's and a few our Fathers that HP will approve me...please all you pray for me also????

I got approved through Health Partners for lap RNY with Dr. Benn in 10 business days.  Keep an eye on them- on the day I had my consult with him, they said they'd submit to insurance that day.  Then a week and a half later, they call me looking for a copy of my referral so they can submit.  WTF?  Give it a week after your appointment and call HP to find out what day they got it, and count from there- they take up to 14 business days.  I have since decided on a different procedure (DS) for personal lifestyle and work reasons, but had I decided to stay with the RNY, Dr. Benn is who I would have stayed with.  Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the process with FSWLS or HP.  Congratulations on your progress!

Oh you know it.....I think that maybe I will be the "squeaky wheel" and start calling HP every day!!!  They seem very nice, I have dealt with them on differant issues before, and they seem so sincerely nice!  I had Dr. Benn take my appendix out ohhh lets see...wow it has been 18 years ago?? wow I am getting old!!!! lol. I will have to chat with you sarah....I will have to PM you some time.

Do it!  They told me that I could call 5 times a day if I wanted, that's what they're there for.  As long as you're pleasant and not pushy, they don't care.  I called once every day or two to check on it after they'd had it for a week and they were all really nice.  I need to call them tomorrow and find out what happens to my approval now that I've switched procedures and surgeons.  So not going to be a fun call!

Thanks, Lisa!  I talked to HP today and Dr. Buchwald's office needs to do a whole new submission for pre-approval, so i'll be back in your shoes soon!  I would give it a week from your appointment with Dr. Benn before calling HP, and when you call the first time, ask what date they received it, so you know when to start counting from.
