OT: Vampire teeth

My lovely 10 year old had quite the day yesterday.  She ran, face first, into a pole during recess at school.  She broke her two front teeth on the basketball hoop pole.  I hear that there were tears, but they were all gone by the time I arrived.  She has temporary sealants on the fresh edges now.  Monday we're going in, putting her under, and getting those teeth fixed with either veneers or caps.  The dentist will also be pulling out the chunks of embedded tooth out of her gums.  She's been a pretty brave kid so far.  But we're already seeing social regression with her autistic ticks and speech.  The new lisp isn't helping much.  If you could think so good thoughts for her during what is going to be a long week of trying to avoid teasing at school and a painful Monday, I'm sure she would appreciate it.  I know that her mommy will.

Good lord, Leia - that poor little honey!!!  I'm sending up prayers for kindness from the other kids, I'm sure that's got to be rough!!!  And for the fix to be relatively painless.... UFF DA!!!

Thank you for thinking about her.  I'm sure it won't be totally painless on Monday, but at least I can hope that they drug her up enough so she doesn't remember it all.  She was in tears of fear this morning at her pre-op physical.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers.....  She will be good as new before you know it............

i WAS IN FIFTH GRADE.  sAME THING HAPPENED TO MY FRONT TEETH, EXCPT THEY SHATTERD STRAIGHT ACCROSS.  i AM NOW 40.  THE TEMPS THEY GIVER HER WILL LAST ABOUT 6 YEARS, THEY WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK OFF ON A POPSICLE STICK (MINE DID) SHE WILL BE OK. 

PS.  THE NEW TEETH WILL NOT EVER WHITEN AND SHE WILL HATE THE SONG 'ALL I WASNT FOR XMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH'

Holy smokes!!!  poor kidlet-Maui did the same type of thing a year ago but just broke ONE tooth-she managed to mangle both.  That's talent for ya....
I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers!

I assume you still are at PNC?  Been forever since I seen ya-hope to soon, I need a Ginger squeeze!

I'm still at PNC... for the time being.  My program just got notified that we are no longer the sacred cow and will most likely see reductions within the next couple weeks.  So here's to hoping that I still have a position here after May 12th!

I've been so busy with summer rolling in faster than I can pack up winter that I miss most every coffee and group.  But maybe I'll be able to get my girls motivated enough to get out to meet with you guys one of these evenings.

You may have noticed I posted that they cut me last week.  I did try for a job here at Burnsville PN-in the call center.  I interviewed today.  I won't know for a couple of weeks whether they will give me the job or not....at least it would keep me in the system and I would have my benefits.  Here's to them keeping you-it's pretty scary to think they are even looking at cutting you guys working on Epic-especially since they spent so much money training you!  good luck-and YES, we should have an evening to get together.
