WOW!
This morning when I stepped on the evil scale, it became my friend! I saw a number I don't believe I ever saw, 216.5!! I'm pretty sure I skipped right over that number in my youth - about the time I grew out of my elephant Pampers and moved straight into granny panties.
I mentioned this somewhere, probably my two years out post, but apparently the increase in my synthroid dose really DID jump-start my weight loss! I hit 150 down last AUGUST, for crying out loud, so today's number represents only 10.5 lost since LAST AUGUST. I mean, like I said, it's 10.5 in the RIGHT DIRECTION, but after dropping 100 in just over FIVE months post-op? It's been like watching paint dry... and then fade.
I'm so thankful my PCP decided to re-check my levels, and increase my dose. I didn't relate it to my weight loss at all, but my PNC doc said she believed getting that back where it belongs should help with losing more - so YAY SYNTHROID!!!

Oh my!!!! :-) That's TOO funny!
Glad the scale is moving for you again. So, I'm curious, I just had my TSH tested and it was 20. It had been 1.2 last check in November before surgery. What was your TSH level? My PCP increased my dose about 2 weeks ago and since then I've lost 9 pounds. Could this just be the Synthroid? I've never had that much of a loss in such a short time. I was on .275 and she bumped it to .300mcg.

Kristy (weight loss below does not include 16lbs lost during pre WLS diet)
START: 325 Day of Surgery :309 GOAL: 180
To be honest, I have no idea what my TSH level was, but I have been on a smaller dose of Synthroid than you - my recent increase brought my dose up to .150. And I believe it HAS made a bit of a difference - because I've actually been hovering around 222, give or take 2-3 pounds, for MONTHS. So to see 216.5 this morning was HUGE!!
I don't believe it is the Synthroid itself that helps the weight to drop, it's getting the TSH level where it belongs. And that's a good thing!
