I was wondering...
Definitely depends on your insurance. I have Preferred One. I had my info meeting 3/25, psych eval 3/30, psych follow up 4/6, nutritionist 4/2. I was approved basically the same day they sent the info in 4/10. My surgery is scheduled for 5/26/09 could have had it 5/12/09. 2 years ago I had gone through the process but was not ready. This time I am....Good Luck
i did call and get the info from my insurance. The only thing that will hold it up is that they require I have six months, six meetings with a weight loss doctor/program and show progress in following a diet/exercise plan and taking weight off. It says it is to show that you can follow dietary requirements.
BMI has to be over 40, and anything 35-40 will be considered with other medical conditions.
Doing a few calculations I see that if I lost 15 lbs I would fall in that 35-40 range.
I'm going to the FWLS info meeting next week and happy to be moving forward :)
