Not Ready For The Tour De France, But...

I have spent a lot of time walking lately but inside my own head trying to figure myself out.  It has been cathartic, but not especially fun.  Tonight I decided to just go for a bike ride and enjoy it for its own sake.  I rode around the neighborhoods near my house for about 45 minutes with the wind in my hair, the smell of recent rain at every turn, my leg muscles churning away and, surprisingly, a smidgen of joy in my heart.  For awhile, at least, I was able to completely set side my worries and concerns, which, to be honest, have threatened to overwhelm me this past week.  I felt better when I returned than when I left and, I feel like I am in a better frame of mind to deal with things.  Lance Armstrong need not worry....yet.

I LOVE riding - haven't done any long-distance riding (EVER), but I really enjoy cruising around Hanover - especially with the newer trails that the city has put in...

I need to make it a regular thing, me & the old Schwinn  (cue the Wicked Witch theme from The Wizard of Oz...)
