BCBS of MN ...DS'er's

I want to know if anyone here was approved by BCBS of MN PPO2 for a DS. I have all my ins requirements and the DS is only considered on a case by case basis meeting the criteria of 50+ BMI and at least 2 co-morbs(I have diabetes and hypertension), 6 month dr monitored diet attempt, AND at least 5 years of documented morbid obesity.
I meet all of these, and once 6 month diet it done, know I will get approved for RNY but want the DS.

Wondered if anyone ever had to battle my ins co before for this?

(I live in TN but have ins from MN so I am repeat posting this onto the DS board)

Yes, I won my appeal against BCBS of MN for coverage of the DS.
My BMI was under their requirement.

It was worth every ounce of fight!!!

Also, we have a law firm here in MN who is fighting these cases at their own expense. We benefit from having it all on their letterhead, their typing time, etc.
