Liquid Diet Question
I'm going through Abbott Northwestern for my surgery. How.. what do I do with the liquid diet? Do I go through Abbott for the supplies? How much is it? I am confused as to how I go about it all. I'm supposed to start my LD on June 3rd.
So what do I do and where do I go? Lead me, oh great weight losers!
As for LDs...all surgeons have theiur own ideas of what is right. My surgeon required a 10 day LD. I could have Boost High Protein Drink, SF drinks like Crystal Light, SF jello, broth and plenty of water.
I guess I would talk to your surgeon or nutritionist. Every program is different.

I had Drew and they did suggest the prepackaged LD. 14 or 21 day. I personally did NOT do the prepackaged LD. I bought my own. I knew I would need the items for the 2 weeks after surgery as well so I just loaded up. I did beef and chicken broth, lots of SF choc. pudding with added Women's Whey protein powder. This saved me really. I did low carb slim fast and Atkins shakes. SF Popcicles were my treats. Eddy's have a REALLY good one. The cub brands pale in comparison. Spend a little more to get really good ones. I did a little yogurt as well.
Hope this helps! what time is your surgery scheduled for?!
My surgery is the last of the day for Drew at 1pm so I probably won't be coherent until later in the evening :)
I would like to try to do it on my own if I can. I just don't know where to start for it all. Where did you buy your 'Women's Whey protein powder" ? I don't know what is a good deal when it comes to protein powders. I'm so incredibly used to my husband cooking and, to be honest, he can be pretty clueless sometimes.
Total Nutrition Technologies on line - google it.
I love the mocha and choc with my slim fast, Atkins or ch. pudding. They have banana flavored but I only like that with frozen strawberries in the blender - mmmmm taste like something from DQ. However haven't don't strawberries yet due to the seeds. They have vanilla which I used with lemon, pistachio and butter scotch pudding. I don't usually like vanilla flavor but worked well with those puddings. They also have a berry which I haven't used post op because I usually liked it with my fruit.
At work - I had the SF choc. pudding singles which take 1/2c of skim. This was part of my lunch at work and really helped keep the portion and calories in check. I can't believe how many calories Milk has. I wasn't a milk drinker before surgery just because I don't particularly care for it on a daily basis.
SF Gum and SF Crystal Light Candies also helped during the day at work for me.
Well Maybe I will see you before you go into surgery then - what time are you supposed to arrive to check in?
