I am watching the biggest loser and how do they come up with % loss of body weight?  I have tried several combinations of starting weight/#'s loss/ and ending weight and can not come up with their answers.

Just curious.

# lbs they lost / total starting weight = % of body weight lost

so if a 300 lb woman lost 150lbs =>>  150/300 =  50% weightloss

Well me for example:  240 lbs and I want to lose 100 lbs

so 100 / 240 = 41.66%

The backwards way to do it: start weight 400 lbs.. end weight 210 lbs..
so 400-210 = 190lb weight loss
190/400 = 47.50 %

I guess I don't understand what numbers or answers you don't get about your own?
