Can we eat Popcorn after surgery?
I do... I am not sure if it's any different for RNY but I am pretty sure you all can too.

I can eat anything...nothing gives me problems. But everyone needs to discover what they can or cannot tolerate. Beware that some things you loved before WLS you no longer like. The opposite is also true.
For me, if I eat popcorn I choose Amish Country hull-less. Its easier on the digestive system. But I do eat movie theater popcorn too.
I have a personal rule regarding popcorn. I do not eat it after 2pm. It, for whatever reason, haunts me at night if I eat it too late in the day.

Can? Sure.
Should is a WHOLE different category. Calories with no nutritional value and whatnot.
I have found that getting the kids pack is a pretty good plan - comes with a small amount of popcorn, kid's size pop and a small box of candy (which doesn't feel too bad to throw away). I NEVER feel like eating a whole small bag of popcorn, and with having to wait between popcorn and pop (if your tummy can even handle pop) the small drink shouldn't be much of a problem either.

I went to the Midnight showing of "Twilight " back in November, and because of cost and insecurity issues bought LARGE pop and LARGE popcorn. (Old me was always worried about not having enough food. Still working on that. Plus, it's the most cost effective to buy the huge large) Didn't consume a QUARTER of either the pop or popcorn. Kids pack I think is like $4.25.
Just a thought. :)

I will admit I am going to be one of those who if I can eat it I will, I am re-framing my mind to limit what I can eat and choosing to eat those bad foods rarley, but I will still enjoy a kid sz popcorn, or a slice of pizza, etc....in my life just in moderation, everyone feels diffrently about how they will proceed after surgery this is what I will be doing to each there own in this process...I just want to know what I can eat, when I can eat it possibly and how others have dealt with these foods, etc..
