Any words of encouragement or advice are welcomed, as I am feeling scared right now.  I thought I would feel like celebrating the long awaited approval.  Instead, I feel like I need to write a will or something.  Maybe I am just accepting of the risks involved.  Hugs please.  Thanks.

I hate to tell you this, but - you're normal.  (HUGS ANYWAY!!)

Prior to my surgery, I did create a will, and I wrote personal letters to my kids and my hubby, JUST IN CASE.  I had a close friend hang on to them, JUST IN CASE.

I'm still here.  Just have confidence that you will be, too.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I didn't do the letters, but I did a Power of Attorney and also one that gave my daughter medical authorization stuff.  Being single, I wrote a check to my daughter that would empty my bank account (so she wouldn't have to deal with red tape), and one to empty my dad's (deceased) so my siblings wouldn't have to deal with the same stuff.  But that was it for my 'preparation', cuz I never really dwelled on any idea of not coming home.  I know people write letters 'just in case', but that wasn't for me.  I don't know Dr I's mortality rate, but I can't believe it's all to much.  I had zero fear of that, since Dr B had a zero morality rate.  You'll do fine - this freak is normal!  And, beware, you WILL have buyers remorse when you get home . . . . just know that is normal, too, and we all have lived through it :)

Hello R -- you are in very good hands (not the best cuz you didn't go with Dr. Buchwald, but a very, very close second (just kidding)).  I remember the nervousness and actually thinking about backing out but I didn't and now I am so glad I went through with it! It took a couple of months to be glad I did it, but I certainly am now.

Still, here's some ****hugs***** to hopefully help you feel better!

Congratulations on your date!  At least since you sound nervous the 3rd is only a week away! YAY!

Is that a Siamese kitty sipping a Frappuchino in your avie?  So cute!

Close your eyes and imagine the amazing feeling of being healthy.. being able to run, go places you've never gone before because your weight held you back, crossing your legs comfortably, etc, etc. Imagine it all... and the feelings that come with it! You'll have that this time next year!

Do whatever you feel will put your mind at ease. I did a health care directive and spoke with my family about my wishes but nothing else formal. You know best what will bring you a sense of calm and peace.

So glad you are on here active now and you can reap the benefits of all the knowledge and experience. I wouldn't have done nearly as well so far without them.

And yes, I get much better info here than I do at the clinic re: nutrition and side affects.

Yippeeeeee for you!!!!
Nancy  Remember what you deserve. Be good to you. Do good to you.
