Congrats on your date coming up so soon!! Do whatever you need to do to ease your mind. Funny I didn't even think of any will or directive, although I did have an implant rather than a removal. Not much cutting as yours.

Robin,

Congratulations!!!  This is an exciting time.  I was a crazy, sick, lunatic the weekend before my surgery.  My poor husband!  I was apologizing to him like crazy!  Like Darla said - you are normal!!!  I like Nancy's advice...do whatever puts you at ease.

Take care!

Hey Robyne! Well, I am so excited for you!!! You've chosen a great surgery and a great surgeon. That alone should help to ease your mind a bit. You did your homework, now try to relax.

It's not easy, but I also did a Healthcare Directive prior to my surgery. But, I'm a planner. Should something ever happen to me before I'm ready, I want my life to be celebrated, so yeah, I made that directive. But you know what, we all should have one anyways.

The U of M gives you one in the back of your packet, at least they did last year. Leave it with them the morning of surgery, or someone in your family that you trust will carry out your wishes.

I had two young kids to keep after before surgery & Christmas to prepare for since I was in the hospital during Christmas, so it kept my mind occupied. Perhaps you can find a hobby or activity that occupies some of your free time, so your mind doesn't wander? Knitting or reading, or playing games on Facebook - good Lord, just ask me about that time waster! LOL

Take care, Robyne! We're all excited for you. You're going to love it on the Loser's Bench!!!
