Hello
Just wanted to stop on and say hi. I don't post much but I do read alot. I am still having my whole host of problems. They never seem to stop. NOw my insurance company has put a rench in it restricting my dr's and my hospital I can go to by putting me in a restricted recipient program. It sucks!!!! They won't pay unless I drive 45 minutes to an ER to be seen if I go to any other er at their descretion they can say they won't pay. As many of you know, I frequent the ER with my medical condition from the RNY and now I have to drive to get care. This sucks!!! And to top it off I am looking again at reversing the surgery but I don't know if it will help with only a 60% chance of helping at all and a 20% chance of causing new complications. I don't know. I am at my wits end with this and I am sorry to all the newbees for complaining but I really wish I never had this stupid surgery right now. I have been puking all day and have had alot of pain. Okay just needed to vent. Hope all is well with everyone, I need to return to work.

Sorry don't know your whole story, but come to the DS board. I am sure we can help you out. The DS will work for you. Give it a whirl, read about it and see what you think.

I LOVE MY DS!!!!!
STRIVE TO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE AND DO THE BEST THAT YOU CAN.
Check out www.dsfacts.com and www.duodenalswitch.com for all the accurate information on the great DS, and find surgeons in your area or around the country or out of the country.

I'm sorry you are having so many problems. Insurance companies really stink, money is their total bottom line and that's just SO wrong when you are dealing with someone's quality of life!
Have you spoken to your doc about a revision? What does he/she say about that?
I had a band and it failed miserably, I had horrid reflux and was throwing up all the time. I'd eat one thing one day and it'd be OK and the next it would make me very sick. When I had these problems my doctor suggested I go with DS surgery.
I know a revision is a big step and heaven knows having surgery is a big deal, but if it works you'll have a better quality of life. Speak to your doctor and see what they say.
Hope you feel better soon!!!

Like Farrah, I've followed your story as well. Always hoping your health would improve. I'm sorry to hear it has continued.
I also agree with the above, go seek out a revision to the DS and see if it won't fix it. You may have an insurance fight on your hands, but it may be worth it. Can you go see Dr. Buchwald of the UofM Physicians by chance? I really think it would be worth your time & effort.
Aside from that, I'm guessing your only other option is to have the RNY taken down and live with it from there?
Best wishes!

I don';t know if the Ds is the way to go. I has severe gastroparesis directly from this surgery and I don't know if that would complication the DS. I have not gained any of my weight back or anythign so it is really just trying to create a better quality of life. They want to reverse the surgery all together and put everythign back the way it was. My insurance is also pushing it (my case manager nurse is ) so I don't think there will be a proglem them. Thanks
