Allergies

I never had allergies before my surgery (5/6/09) now I'm sneezing multiple times in a row.  My nose will just not stop running.  My throat is dry and I cough.  It might not be because of the changes I am going through, but it makes me suspicious......... Anyone else experience anything like this?

Maybe you caught a bug? I was more likely to get sick after WLS immediately after surgery.

My husband is having some RAGING ISSUES right now - actually ended up taking a ride in an ambulance Sunday morning, he could NOT stop coughing.  The ER doc said there has been something in the air for the last 10 days or so that is just kicking allergy sufferers in the ASS - above and beyond the normal culprits.  She herself was having a rough time, not to mention all the cases she was seeing in the ER.

She recommended a daily Claritin (OBVIOUSLY, you'd want to check with your doc first!), and she's also doing Flonase.  But even with all that and a few other things, Rich is suffering BIG TIME. 

Thanks for the update.  It has been about the last 10 days or so.  Hope your Hubby's doing better.  It's no fun!  Claritin does not seem to work for me.  I've been doing Benadryl and that works for a while.  I'm trying something new today and it has finally kicked in, but who knows for how long.  Thanks again,

Claritin doesn't work for me, either, but Zyrtec works like a charm.  I have to have the Zyrtec-D, because the regular only kind of works without the D.  I'm glad to hear it's not just me that's been miserable lately- at least I know that it's not because my Zyrtec's not working!

I swear by Zyrtec as well.  Even with it, my allergies flared up a couple times this week.
It's been an awful year for allergies!
