Thursday: How Are You Moving Today?
In the coolness of this clear sky morning, I watched the sun rise over a lake from the saddle of my bike. I rode 14 miles over what has become my normal training route. I say hello to the same half dozen or so walkers I see most days, which usually elicits at least a smile and sometimes a greeting in return. I wonder if they would notice my absence if I changed my route or if I was out of town for more than a few days.....have I become a part of their daily landscape as they have become a part of mine? I hope so, actually, because I have found that I want to feel more connected to people I see regularly, even if those connections are no more than a fleeting smile or nod. Those tiny connections with others seem to help sustain me on days when I am feeling down or out of sorts and, on good days, I am mindful of the need to return that favor to others.
I hope to also get a lunch time walk in today, but work duties may intervene (my thoughts about that unpleasant prospect are filled with expletives, so I won't share them here).
Anyhow, how are you moving today?

Anyway, when the surgeon asked me if I can work (age 57, BMI 61) and if I can dress myself, etc. - I was shocked. I guess I must be lucky that I can do those things, too.
How I long to be active and enjoying movement each day. I'm on my way!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
