Lab elevated....?????

The lab that determines if I am a longtime smoker is still high......I'm worried that the 2 weeks I spent with my parents the beginning of this month will screw me........they are both 3 pack a day smokers and I was around them for two weeks, every cigarette..............I'm afraid they are going to think I've been smoking and cancel my surgery........I'm crossing my fingers......I meet with Dr. Baker again tomorrow for a weigh in........I think I may have lost the weight I was supposed to or at least most of it.......wish me luck!

I would hope they can see through that & know that you aren't actually a smoker. Keep me posted.

I would come right out and tell them your concern.  That you spent 2 weeks with 2  - 3pack a day smokers and don't want your labs to be goofed up.  Yikes, I quit 20 years ago and I think I would die if I would have to live in a house with that much smoke now.  Telling them up front should prove that you're not sneaking - and the fact that you don't smell like smoke should tell them you're not either.

Good for you for quitting - it is a ***** to do but worth it in so many ways.

Well I didn't get to see the Dr. today at my weigh in so I still don't know what is going on with my lab work........I will have to wait until the day of surgery.  Yikes!  I'm not liking that. 

I would just call them and voice your concerns and ask them what the results are and what they want to do!! They have to give you the results if you ask for them. That way you dont stress yourself out until ur surgery   Good Luck God Speed
