What a Diffeence a Year Makes
365 days ago I had a Lap RNY. I am amazed at what a difference there is in myself.
I have:
lost a total of 130 pounds
beat thyroid cancer (5 months post op)
gone from size 28 to size 16
learned coping strategies other than food
met fantastic people!
gone from taking 200+ units of insulin per day to taking 5 units per day
flown comfortably on an airplane
changed my tastes in protein numerous times
become one with my water bottle
gained a huge appreciation for exercise (whoever thought I would be a gym rat)
earned my "bat wings"
become a major thrift store shopper
climbed the foothills of a mountain in Mexico
I am so very thankful for this tool, and this journey. I'm sure there are more changes and WOW's yet to come!

Reenie,
Congrats on your one year surgiversary! Such HUGE accomplishments! I remember meeting you for the first time right after you had surgery and remember your positive attitude and have never forgotten that. Those like you that went before me are truly an inspiration! Many more successes are coming your way!
Hugs!

I love the "earned your batwings". I get down on myself for mine. But then I try to recall when I'd take my size 24 shirt and tug on the arms to stretch them out a bit..my arms were so big ! I feel blessed that I was able to have this surgery and be successful with it. So..I too, earned my batwings!
Congrats and all of the changes in your life and being so positive in general!
What a great year huh??!!
Best wishes~ Natalie
