The peer to peer review WORKED today, and shortly after the phone call ended, I received a call from Dr. I's nurse Bridget with the FANTASTIC news that the denial is overturned and the DS is approved! I swear I blew out the womans ear drums with my squeeling! LOL! I am so stinkin' excited, thrilled, nervous, happy, relieved... You name it! Official surgery date is Friday, August 21st!!! WAHOO!!! Big_Fun will be having her's on the 18th, but open with a different surgeon, so I'll be challenging her to I.V. pole races when I'm up and going! I am just over the moon! (can ya tell?!? LOL!) It just goes to show, if you want something bad enough, and you know this is the best of the best out of the WLS FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT for it- it is SO worth it to hear those words "The denial has been overturned..." Need to go- getting a wee bit misty here now! THANK YOU OH/DS Board for all of your support and help!!

I am actually behind the curve as far as the weight loss goes. I lost 30 pounds prior to surgery so that is on there as well. So, I am a slow loser, but I am losing it so I just keep right on plugging away. I figure I still have 7 more months to get of the next 88 pounds so I am just going to keep working on it. oh, my Common Channel is 75 cm just like all of Buchwald's patients. Dr I usually does a 100 cm Common Channel though.

Oh sweetie! Don't underestimate your success! How many people can say they've dropped as much weight as you have in almost a years time?! You are doing FANTASTIC sweetie, don't ever forget that! Think of all the things you can do now with your family and your life that you couldn't do a year ago! That is the measure of success hun; not the number! You will make it to goal, even if you don't, celebrate all you've acheived up to now!! YOU ROCK! (Slow and steady wins the race!!)
