What's a stone? I mean, I know the ones that are out on the country size, but I didn't know they had a specific weight to them, so I'm assuming it's a different kind of stone - but never heard of that expression before....explain please...

A Stone is what they use in the UK to measure weight.  The conversion is 14 lbs = 1 stone.  They don't use pounds except for currency.
