Hello My Fellow Minnesota OH'ers!  I wanted to check in with everyone to see how the summer is going?  Please reply back and let me know what your number one goal for the remainder of the summer will be.  Mine is this... lift weights and rebuild my body!

I currently have my sons out with me in Seattle for a two week visit.  My step-son Ryan is going to be my weight training partner every night when he is done with his Rock and Roll camp and I am done with work.  On that note, I thought I would share a summer "Wow Moment" with everyone.  I hope you like this!

For fun, my step-son Ryan and I tried on one of my old pair of pants! These pants are a size 54 and I can now wear a size 34. Yikes!

Take Care & God Bless!

Alan that picture leaves me speechless!  Congratulations.  We spoke at a MG coffee about spinning and as I just passed my 4 month post op anniversary, I am gearing up to follow in your footsteps and start the spinning classes at lifetime, wish me luck!  What a picture, WOW!

Very cool!  Make sure you get a gel seat and maybe some cycling gloves.  I need both.  I have "moved on" to jogging outside.  It's really, really nice to be able to actually exercise outside and "see stuff".  I just have to watch the joints.  My right knee is a little prone to getting sore.  Too bad we have to get old, isn't it.  I am now focusing about 60% of my workout energies on lifting weights and building muscle.  I need to fill out some of this loose skin!

Take Care Friend!

Alan

P.S.  Will there be a MG Cofee on 08/15.  That's my next Saturday back in Minne and I need my MG Coffee fix!!!

Ah-ha!  Shashi and I are on the same flight MSP-HNL (on our way out to KOA) this September (for our 2nd Honeymoon).  How was the service?  There has been a lot of "grumbling" on Flyertalk.com about Delta "downgrading" the service on the MSP-HNL direct flight.  They want to "have their cake and eat it too"... so when it comes to pricing, you have to pay more $$$ or more miles since it's "Hawaii"... but when it comes to service, Delta works the other end and days "oh well, it's JUST a domestic flight" and you just get the same "Plain Jane" service that is on all Delta domestic flights... peanuts and biscoff!  Check out these threads if you're interested:

The "Old" Northwest MSP-HNL A-330 service:  http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/trip_reports/read.m ain/136041/

The "New" Delta-Tized Version of the same service:  http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/northwest-worldperks/954445-n w-625-hnl-food-downgraded.html

Kind of sad how Delta has ruined things.  Can I cry now?

I am actually swtiching my loyalty over to Alaska Airlines (AS).  They have had direct flight service SEA-MSP since last October and they have much better service, including appreciation luncheons for their top tier elite travelers where they give you free noise cancelling head phones (not Bose, but a worthy knock off).

We actually thought the service was great. We got three pretty decent meals on the flight, movies and games (the set right in front of us) and it was just overall good service. We were actually surprised that they fed us as much as they did.

Way cool.  What month did you go on this trip?  Delta cut the service back to domestic sometime this spring, I believe.  The Airbus A330's are great!  I have been luck enough to fly twice on them on "repositioning" flights between MSP and SEA over the last couple of years.  It's kind of fun to play trivia against the other people on the flight!  If you get the chance to fly in World Business Class, the seats actually have massagers in them!

Take Care Friend!
