OT: Good News

On Tuesday my husband had a doctor appointment at the U of M urology clinic and they said he doesn't need another surgery right now.   He may in the next 3 months but they going to take a look at that time and decide.   That was a relief because he'd be out of work for 6 weeks without pay.  This way now we can save some in preperation of the posibility of surgery.

While we were at this appointment we talked with the doctor about how we've been married nearly 10 years and have never really been careful and have not gotten pregnant. (I'm not able to take birth control due to the side effects its has on my blood pressure even after losing all my weight.) .  I had figured that most of it was my fault do to being overweight but even in the last year we haven't been careful and still nothing.   They found a possible reason while examining my husband that may be causing the infertility.   We have an another appointment in August to find out if this is really the reason and if it can be fixed or not.   Reading online I don't have much hope it can be fixed.  I was really bummed because I didn't think my insurance would cover In Vitro Fertilization which is what a lot of couples end up having to do when the husband has this issue. We would not be able to afford it on our own.   But today I called my insurance and I do have coverage if needed.  So I'm breathing a sigh of relief.

Now  if only we can fix some of hubby's emotional problems and I don't get laid off and lose mye insurance we'd be good!   Hopefully when the time is right all the pieces will fall into place!  I hope its soon I want to be a mom really bad (even though I'm scared out of my mind to be one).

Becoming a parent IS scary as HELL!!!  All the things that run through your mind about responsibility, the future for your child(ren)?  It's scary stuff!

But it's also the most awe-inspiring thing you'll ever do.

As for weight being the cause of not getting pregnant?  Isn't it a shame that we can beat ourselves up like that?  I could have told you otherwise.  I was well over 300 when I conceived BOTH of my babies - got damn close to 400 during my second, and I only gained a total of about 14#.

I hope all your issues can be resolved, security restored, and baby made!

Good things come to those who wait. Easier said than done, I know. But when the time is right, the right thing will happen.

I'm glad things are getting better for you. Hang in there and stay focused.

Kathy...glad to hear your hubby's appointment went well. It will help so much when he is able to work again. I know how stressful it must be to make it today on one income.

As for babies.....I hope you are able to have a little one of your own someday soon. You will make an awesome mommy!!! I see how you are around the little ones in your family.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Love ya...hugs....connie d
