Now I need surgery!
And that's the best news I've gotten all year!!
I got a call from Dr. Benn's office: I'm approved! My date is August 27th and I can't wait to join all of you on the loser's bench, thereafter and forever.
It is my instinct to write a thank you to everyone who has helped me arrive at this threshold, through which I'm about to pass. Of course, I know this point is not a finish line, but instead a doorway towards victory and health. It is also my instinct to share my appreciation to so many people who have been by my side to give support and insight along this briefest part of my journey. You are at my side, not leading me, not behind me pushing, not even holding my hand to steady me. Instead you are giving me another tool, information, so that I can be prepared to succeed.
Although I've already begun this journey, which I started back in the winter, this is a monumental point in time to celebrate.

Woo Hoo Dan!! Congratulations on your approval. You have weathered the storm of denial and appeal and now are truly on your way.

Congrats!!!! I feel so fortunate to have you as part of the OH community! You have a way with words and that makes a differece! At coffee this past Sat. I sensed you very naturaly taking all of our thoughts and putting them togther, like a summary! That is very helpful to me! Glad you are here with all of us and I am cheering you on!!!!!
