I got approved!

I just wanted to poke my head in and say that I found out I got approved for the RNY surgery!  Park Nicollet called me yesterday to let me know!  Two weeks to the day from when we submitted the paperwork.  I meet with Dr Svendsen on Oct 28th and also have a gallbladder ultrasound that day as well.  I'm so happy that I'm approved and can't wait to join you all on the loser's side.  I'll hopefully come out of lurk mode more now, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for my Minnesota Peeps.

thanks

Congrats Stacy!!  I know how you feel as I was just approved last week, met with the surgeon this week and have surgery on the 21st of October!!  How exciting!!  We won't be very far apart on the surgery side of this!!

Thanks!  I'm really excited.

I guess my doctor is on vacation next week, so I can't get in until the 28th, then I see the dietitian on the 29th to talk about the liquid diet.  The whole process was really fast.

AWESOME!  I hade my RNY with Svendsen almost a year (and over 166 pounds) ago!  He's a wonderful surgeon, professional and doctor.  And... he kind of looks like the actor Vin Diesel, to boot!

Congratulations Friend!  You must feel like you're on top of the world!  I know I did when I was approved (after SEVEN MONTHS of dietician appointments) by my insurance company last year...

Thank you everyone!  The insurance part was the most nerve wracking part for me so far.  I want this so bad and I knew I could do whatever the dietitians asked me to do, but the insurance part was up to someone else.

Does Methodist Hospital have private rooms or do you have to share?
