Hey guys,  have you heard or had liquid calcium?  It comes in fruity flavors.  I was in fargo this weekend and I went to the GNC there and he said you could only get it at the hospital Pharmacy.  He said it was for gastric bybass patients.  I never even told him I had the surgery.  So is this only for gastric bypass patients?  I have tried the one at walmart and it is Nasty.  Do they have a calcium shot yet?  What do you guys take?  I can't get the chews down anymore they make me gag and I take my horse pills cut them in half.......So any help would be great...........

I do a variety of calcium - some calcium citrate in pill form (BORING!), some chocolate chews (Viactive or the generic equivalent), Bariatric Advantage lozenges, and even a "gummy" form I found at Target in one of the newer lines they're carrying.

Yes, calcium citrate is the preferred form of calcium because it absorbs more efficiently, but as long as you're getting it in, even the carbonate form is better than not getting any.  And my labs have all been fine.

I haven't heard of a liquid, but then I haven't been looking.  My mantra is -
you don't have to like it, you just have to take it.

Hugs to you, Marsha Marsha Marsha!!!

Hi Marsha...I have not heard of the liquids yet...but then again I haven't looked. I still take the Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chocolate Chewy Bites...tried the lemon but wasn't crazy about them. I just stick with what I know works for me.

Good luck sweetheart...love and hugs....connie d

I've used liquid calcium along with the calcium citrate tablets from Costco.  I got the liquid calcium from Iherb.com, my favorite place to buy vitamins and supplements.  I've had the blueberry, the raspberry and the orange and they were all ok.  1 tablespoon is 600 mg I think and it also has magnesium and vit D.  Don't take too much of it or the magnesium might give you the runs.  For some of us, that would be a blessing!  Sometimes I take 1 tbsp of the liquid and then use the tablets for my other dose.
