Just a reminder that the support groups for ANW Bariatric Center meet next week.

Lap Adjustable Gastric Band Support Group
When:  Monday, January 11
Time:  6-7:30 pm
Where:  6th Floor Piper Classroom
        913 E. 26th Street

Renewal RNY Gastric Bypass Support Group
When:  Tuesday, January 12
Time:  5:30-7 pm
Where:  Education Building, Room 101 NOTE LOCATION CHANGE FOR 2010
        Education Building is on 26th Street between 10th Ave and
        Chicago Ave.

Is this open to all RNY people or only patients of ANW?

I believe that anyone can attend the support groups at ANW.  I went to one pre-op and there was a family (without the patient that had the procedure done somewhere else) there to get some support to help their family member out.  Hopefully Deb will concur with me. 
My belief is the more support you can get to help you with your journey the better!

Sorry for the delay.  I typically don't get responses, so you are encouraging me to learn something new!  That is how to respond to the questions.  Hopefully I am doing this right...Our support groups are open to any patient, prospective patient or support person from any program that would like to attend.  If I had to guess, about 70% of our band group and 30-50 % of our bypass group are patients from other programs.  So, please feel free to join us.  Our next meetings will be posted as soon as I am done with this response, but just so you are aware they are next Monday for bands and Tuesday for bypass.  Watch for my post.  Thank you.

where is the best place to park for this?

Sorry for the delay in my response.  I typically look at this once a month and feel bad that you may not have been able to attend because of my delay.  Parking is available on Chicago Ave., metered parking til 6pm then free on 26th Street and also on 10th Ave. (watch the signs here, I know it is one hour during the day, but I think that ends at 6pm).  Hope to see you at this months meeting.
