Well, ladies her I go! I just told another forum, that I hoped I liked the thin person in me emerging, haven't seen her in so long not sure what I'll think of her. So many years of experience since I was a thin woman. Not only experience in everyday life, but the spiritual me is much different than I was thirty five years ago. As I am 61, this should be an interesting ride. Linda in Texas P.S. would like some updates of some of you folks that have allready had surgery.

Linda, It will be 1 year on July 11th. It has been a ride, but very much worth it. I have so much more enegry, that spills over into all I do. I think I have grown spiritual also, and that I did not realize what I was missing. Congr. on your surgery date, I started at 293/298 and as of Thursday I am at 177. I want to lose another 27 pounds. SO I need to get more excerise in and get rid of it. Eating healthy is important also, follow your doctors and listen to your body and all will go well. Have a great 4th. Kaye in Idaho ( born in Texas)

Kaye, I just looked at your profile and no way do you look 54. I'm starting to wonder if I could end up looking younger after this journey. That might be nice. I'm 61 and a little late thinking about the surgery. You said you were born in Texas, well I have only been here for 13 years. Lived in Idaho for a year and a half before graduating from high school, and then two years at Ricks College, way back in the day. My parents met in Pocatello and had their first five children there. Moved to Oregon where I the sixth was born. But we traveled back to Idaho every year to see family. So have spent a fair about of time there in my life. Would prefer the weather, to this constant heat in Texas. Thanks for responding to my date message, I'm glad this is happening fast, so I don't chicken out. Linda Woods

Linda, I am so excited for you. Just remember that the inside you is still you! As a matter of fact, I still don't remember that people who haven't seen me since I have lost the weight, don't recognize me. I get quite hurt sometimes. I still feel like me and don't always remember I don't look like me anymore! lol As for being an interesting ride... You betcha!!! lol Take care, Grins, Kaye

Linda, I'm sure you will do great. So many older people are having the surgery done. I could not have been happier with my choice to have surgery! I wish you well on your journey. It's not much longer now. Amy

Thank you ever so much dear Amy. You are truly an inspiration to me, in fact one of the first profiles I ever read on Obesity Help was yours! And thought to my self that girl has a certain light in her eyes! Sometime later before I realized that you perhaps were a sister in the gospel. Am I correct? I never knew what caused the awful swelling some people get until I read of your battle with Lymphdema (sp) not sure if that's right. But your story certainly made me aware of what a difficult thing it must be. Linda Woods

Linda, I've been a church member all my life. Thanks for your very kind words of support. I really appreciate it. I'm glad that you learned more about Lymphedema. It always makes me happy for others to get educated about this condition. Amy
