Okay, I'll start ... My name is Laurie. I live in So Calif. Born in the church. My ancestors were pioneers settling the Salt Lake Valley in the mid 1800s. I had the Duodenal Switch (DS) surgery in Nov 2004 and lost almost 100 lbs. I've been married for 28 years and have two grown up daughters. My hubby is a convert. He was a "dry" Mormon (not dunked yet, but ready) when we met in college. He went to catholic high school and his best friend (and ride to school) joined the church so my DH ended up attending early morning seminary and wanted to be baptized but was afraid his parents would disown him. He got baptized a week after we married. DH ended up baptizing his younger brother after his brother started dating a LDS young lady and this brother met his bride at BYU. My current callings are the ward librarian and Stake Primary presidency. My DH is second counselor in our ward Bishopric. Okay ... tag ... you're it! Tell us about you!!! And stick around ... we hope this board will be more active - as sisters and brothers in the Church we can support each other with our spiritual needs in addition to the support we need in our weight loss journeys. Laurie~Thanks for pointing me over here to this board. Ok, I'll go next... I was born in the church but became inactive as a teenager. Met my hubby about a month after graduating high school and got married almost 3 years later. (He was also born in the church and grew up in Palmyra, NY of all places!) We became active again after getting settled into our new home as newly-weds and were sealed in the Palmyra Temple one year and six days after getting married. We had a beautiful baby boy six months later and moved to Las Vegas four weeks after that. We just added out darling little girl to our brood in January of this year. I am currently serving as the 4th Sunday Relief Society instructor. I recently quit my job at a health insurance company to stay home with my kids. My husband works full time and is going to school in the evenings getting his degree in Electrical Engineering. I am brand-spankin'-new to the whole WLS arena and am still in the research phase of my journey. Presently I am debating between Lap-Band and Duodenal Swith. I am hoping to be finished with my 6 month diet in April and then I REALLY will need to make up my mind. LOL
