MORMON CHURCH UNDER ATTACK ON OTHER BOARD - Help!

The Rants and Raves board is not a place for the meek to tread, however, the Church is getting trashed on several posts regarding Calif's Prop 8 which passed last week and is a constitutional ammendment with language stating that marriage is between a man and a woman.

The fact is that the No on 8 folks a (primarily) Gay and Lesbian coalition organized a protest of hate against the LDS church by claiming the Church teaches hates of gays.  Over 1000 people marched and protested in front of the Los Angeles temple on Thursday, writing grafiti on the walls and throwing rocks and causing damage to the temple entrance sign.

The fact is that the Mormon church is being singled out and is itself now a victim of hate, although the church itself did not give money (it is being reported as such) it was a coalition of many faiths ... jews, evangelicals, catholics and others ... who gave their personal funds, time and energy to pass this proposition.  It is in line with the LDS church's Proclamation on the Family.

I have a gay son and Ido understand the rationale behind Prop. 8  However, I do still believe that marriage is to be a man and a woman.  I have mixed feelings on this subject but, I do support those that support their beliefs.  I do support marriage between man and woman.
