Hey Sherrie~ Congrats! I haven't seen this board up and running for a while since OH made a few changes. I'm glad it is back up again! When is your surgery? I had the lap band on 8/11/03, I've lost 57 pounds so I'm half way to my goal! Things are going great and I feel awesome! I hope all is well with you! Good Luck! Tasha 274/217/160 banded 8/11/03

I am in the process of getting WLS, tommorrow is my consultation, and I'm feeling hopeful but aprehensive (complications, etc.) Thanks for posting and Best wishes to you from a "sister" wishing she was back in "Zion"...... just kidding ;) ---Rebecca

Wow, I didn't even know this board existed! How funny! I'm pre op. I'm about to do some stupid diet that my insurance requires before approval. Personally, since I've heard such terrible things about insurance, I can't help but think this is Aetna's way of getting out of paying for my WLS. I'm on the low end of the obesity scale, BMI is between 40 and 41, if I lost even ten pounds I'd be below the necessary BMI. I really have a bad attitude about this pre op diet. Another temporary diet. I just want to start on what will work and be permanent! I'm going with the Rocky Mtn. Associated Physicians group though I'm not sure which surgeon. I'm leaning towards Sherman Smith but I haven't made a final decision. I've yet to meet any of the surgeons. Currently, I have no calling. I was a Webelos leader for about four years. Then our ward split so now I'm just a bum. Lynda D.

Lynda, You deserve to "Bum" out for awhile after Webelos, (I know, I'm a Webelos Leader) The one calling that's like having a 10 year-old boys birthday party every week! Whew! Good Luck on your decision for your Physican, Your "diet", and your insurance,---- enjoy taking care of you!--Rebecca

Lynda, Let me know if you need help with Aetna - I am not just an Aetna customer who got WLS, I am an employee! (OK so its a bad play on hair club for men - so sue me) -Sherrie Aderman Oh I work with the cub scouts in our ward, so we have something else in common.

Hi I'm Lisa and I am in the Oxnard 4th Ward in Port Hueneme, CA. I am active in church but so far have been flying under the church calling radar. I have surgery in just a few days...it is a 2 hour drive from my home so they will keep me in the hospital for a few extra days. I am very worried about my husband being able to handle my two kids (6yrs and 2yrs). This will be the first time I am away from my 2yr old and I am very scared. I wish I could figure out what my ward could do to help me since I am far from home I am not sure what my husband could use help with the most....but I do no it is not Green Jello.
