Questions of The Day- Tuesday
1. What's your/a favorite scripture?
2. Do you have a favorite quote? What is it?
3. What is one goal that you've reached or is within sight?
4. What is your 'happy thought?'
Answers:
1. Alma 32:27-28
27- But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words. 28- Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves--It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.
2. "Only if you sacrifice for a cause will you love it." --Victor L. Brown
3. I've reached a lot of them. I can sit in seats without being touching the sides. In resturants I can sit in a booth WITH a kid in my lap. Before my surgery I could hardly sit in them at all. Biggest goal (140 lbs.) is within sight. I'm shooting for 1 1/2 month.
4. Playing in my Grandma and Grandpa's yard when I was young.
I liked these questions cause I love quotes! And scriptures too. I was glad to look up my favorites.
1. What's your/a favorite scripture?
My favorite scripture has always been Alma 26:27 and it seems to be appropriate with some of the ways some of you have been feeling.
"Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.
I change it to say, "Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to give up, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst your peers and family and bear with patience your afflictions, and I will give unto you success."
Isn't that the greatest? I sometimes seem to have lots of afflictions I have to bear. I love this scripture.
2. Do you have a favorite quote? What is it?
Most my favorite quotes come from Pres. Hinckley, but I couldn't find the one about the rail time journey, so I'll share my other favorite...
"SHAPE Up. I say that to myself constantly. Shape up. Stand a little taller. Be a little better, a little stronger, a little more thoughtful, a little humbler, a little more prayerful, that you may be worthy of the guidance of the Lord and his wonderful blessings."
If Pres. Hinckley says this to himself, I sure better shape up too!
3. What is one goal that you've reached or is within sight?
I don't have any earth shattering ones to share. Mostly I have goals I NEED to accomplish.
4. What is your 'happy thought?'
