Wow- what a story. Sorry to hear they were being such pills. Be careful being off your birth control. Getting pregnant right now wouldn't benifit anyone (but especially you!). I have an IUD and it's great.
I'm glad you're not getting sick anymore. Good job!

Topic: Question of the Day- Wednesday
1. What's your favorite season and why?
2. If you could still do one thing you did when you were a kid (and get away with it) what would it be and why?
My Answers:
1. Fall. The leaves are beautiful here and the air gets crisp and cool and the humidity starts to disappear. When I lived in WA it used to be spring because the farm would start to come to life again and the weather was perfect and the sun was shining. Spring comes in a close second here.
2. Trick-or-treating. People just don't seem to appreciate it when I go trick-or-treating anymore.

Topic: Interesting Discovery = LONG
As most of you know I have struggled nearly from the begining with throwing up = well since I went from liquids to puree. (the last month plus)
Last week I saw the surgeon's P.A (who sees all of the WLS patients basically) and she was the LEAST bit helpfull and rather demeaning. Telling me that I "was" eating things I shouldn't, eating to fast, not chewing well enough, following a "different diet plan" than what I had been given since my dh has a "less restrictive" diet. yada yada yada. I left feeling VERY discouraged and depressed. I know that I am not doing those things. I have in no way jeopardized myself by eating things I can't. There are 2 things I have had that I am not supposed to = wheat thins and beef jerky. Neither one have made me sic****il last week.
I tried to explain this to Debbie - however my emotions took over and so I just shut my mouth. I either cry or get mad and say things I regret later. So I knew enough to shut my mouth. In the mean time -- I'm still sick.
Then on Thursday I had an appt. w/the psychiatrist who rx my anti-depressants. I had made the appt. at the suggestion of my surgeon's coordinator re: malabsorbtion possibility. I have been having some major memory problems. In the mean time the coordinator requested that I have Kathy (psych) call the P.A so she could go over some of the med issues that can happen after surgery.
So I go to this appt. Right from the get go Kathy wants to know how I am feeling. I told her I had been pretty much sick non stop with all puree-solid foods that go in. She asked what I had done about it so I told her that I had the appt. w/Debbie earlier in the week and that I was not happy w/what she said. Kathy pipes in and says that I am doing things I am not supposed to. I said "what the heck do you mean? Are you talking about the 1-3 wheat thins I have PER DAY w/PEANUT BUTTER...which by the way is protein?" She says..>Yes it is. And you told me you had something else too...and so don't say you aren't when you are. I replied to her...quite nasty "Uh..yeah beef jerky that is shredded. It is ALSO protein and at this point it was something I could eat. I told Debbie I have had BOTH of these things. And for the most of the time it DOESN"T make me sick."
She then proceeds to tell me that she called Debbie as requested. Debbie said she had no clue why she was calling but it was good she did... And goes on....again....to say how "I have more problems than any other patient".(per Debbie). I looked at her like you wouldn't believe. Now I went from being frustrated and hurt to being PO'd!!!!! I didn't say a word. I kept my thoughts to myself. I will NOT be making an appt. w/the PA again. I am going to be cancelling my follow up appt.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands....
I went from Thur to Mon with no meds. No vitamins, no tums, no birth control, no anti-depressant. Nothing. I figured I would find out real quick what the problem was if it was med related.
I have not gotten sick once. I have had no nausiousness (sp??). I have had 2 times where I got severe pain in my pouch w/gurgling in my throat and I know for a fact I ate to much the first time and the 2nd time I ate to fast.
On Monday AM I took one of my anti-depressants. Still fine. Today I took the same fine. This evening I took birth control. With in 2 hrs I had the same nausious feeling as before and it hasn't went away.
So my guess is the "morning sickness" feeling that I have had non stop for the last month is related to the birth control that I am on. I have made an appt. to have an IUD. Since this was the 2nd to losest dose I could be on. If I was smart I would have had a tubal done at the same time as my WLS...but I didnt' think about that.
Okay..I know this got long winded. Sorry....

Topic: Challenge of the Day!
Thought I'd mix things up a bit. Maybe we can do this with the question of the day. 3 different categories . . .
Physical: Walk at least 2 flights of stairs today.
Emotion: Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself how well you've done (you'll do) and that you're proud of yourself and you love yourself.
Spiritual: Read Enduring Well -by Elder Neal A. Maxwell (it's a little long so read it when you have some time . . . like before bed) Here's a link: http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Ensign/1997.htm/ensign%20april%201997.htm/enduring%20well.htm?fn=document-frame.htm&f=templates&2.0
Then report on how you did the next day!

Yeah! Good for you Erin! Did anything touch you?
Let's hope it's nothing and surgery comes soon. We're thinking of you!

Donna,
I am so glad to hear you are back to normal. Welcome back.
It does take a time for our bodies to our baby stomachs.
Take care of yourself!
Grins,
Kaye
