Topic: RE: Friday's Question of the Day
1. If you could go back or forth in time and give yourself some advice, what point in your life would it be and what would you say? To a teenage self I would say to be more careful of what I say and to not talk as much, to listen more. I would tell myself that I will get farther, faster if I lived righteously and not to let men determine my worth, not to listen to their influence. 2. If you could take on thing from today and travel back in time (I'm on a time travel kick today), when would it be and what would you take? I would take pictures of my family and explain the answer to above. 3. What has been your worst moment as an obese person? Best as a post-op patient? If you're not post-op what is the moment you're looking forward to? Trying to find a dress for my daughters weddings! Also any time I had to go to the doctors or buy clothes. Best was when my dad told me, after our family reunion, that I had looked sharp. The next thing is when I catch my husband looking at me and smiling. I ask him why and he usually tells about an incident where "you looked so cute..." Can you tell I have a hard time choosing one. There are many answers to both questions. 4. What one event has strengthened your testimony more than any other? There are a couple that I can't speak of here as they are too precious and even holy but there is one that I can relate. My oldest dau was 8 months pregnant with her first child when the midwife decided she needed another ultrasound as she didn't appear very large. Well, although the baby was a good size, (She carries her babies deep and never looks very pg) the ultrasound showed a spot on Matthew's brain. More tests showed a very rare brain tumor complete with vascaler activity. We were all devastated. There were many Dr's and researchers were called in to examine this. Many tests were done in the next two weeks. There was even a special symposium called to discuss it, with some of the nations leading neonatal specialists. We called a family fast and dau and I went to the Salt Lake temple. I will leave out some of the details and just hit some high points. When the baby was born they immediately took him down for a cat scan. My s-i-l carried him. They couldn't find anything wrong. Neither could Primary Childrens where there were more tests done. His doctor told me later that even if the tumor disolved on it's own, (unlikely because tests showed it was growing) there would be some residual debris. Also the rather large tumor had caused Matthew's brain to be off center and that would have to GROW back on center. It was perfectly centered. He said that either 15 of the nations leading researchers had made a mistake or we had a miracle and he voted for the miracle. Today at 9, Matthew is a brilliant boy who has, for years done science workbooks in bed instead of story books. He also has a spot on his head where do hair will grow, in the spot where the tumor was. I beleive to remind us. Ok sorry that was long. To bad I can't share all of it. Grins, Kaye

Topic: Uh, hum. That time of the month . . . (for women only)
Lately it seems that when ever 'that time' roles around I'm wiped out. I go, go, go, go and then I feel like a truck hit me and I hardly have the energy to get up in the morning. It takes me a week to catch up with the mess I can't clean during . . . Just wondering if this is a common problem. Sorry about the sensitive issue but I figure most of us are women. Thanks! Hydi

1. Who is your favorite cartoon character and why? A: I'd have to say rainbow bright. I can't get enough of the boots! When I was a little girl I had a crush on Red Butler (I think that's his name . . . it's been a while). I always thought The Beast -turned man was pretty hot, too. Come to think of it . . . all of Disney's princes were pretty good looking -for cartoons. 2. Which sports team do you back (if any) and why? A: I'm not really loyal to anyone. I just like a good game. Going to a baseball game tonight, infact. 3. What is the funniest or strangest thing one of your kids (or nieces, nephews, sister, brother, etc. if you have no kids) has said to you about your surgery or weight loss or if you are preop your size? (Kids can be so blunt!) A: My kids haven't said anything too funny or strange about my weight loss. Their still pretty small though. One of my former nursery girls asked her mommy if that was 'really Sister Hoeger.' That's the only one I can think of. Good questions Sherrie!

Today is my 3rd month anniversary...I'm down 56 lbs, and it sure makes a difference in my photos.....I am so very happy. I will try to get them on my profile ASAP and I'll let you all know when they are up. I made a new scrub top last night, size MEDIUM (!!!!!) and it is very fitting, but makes me look so much better than my big, baggy scrubs. Tomorrow I plan to go get a new bra and then...WATCH OUT KEVIN!! He won't be able to resist me.... It's a good day for me today. Tracey

1. If you could go back or forth in time and give yourself some advice, what point in your life would it be and what would you say? I would meet my teenage self and explain the reason to be a good girl, and to date nice boys, not the wild ones who always got me in trouble. I passed up some very nice husband material looking for a wild guy, and it wasn't until I was 41 that I got a nice husband, but we are so behind in owning a nice home and stuff for people our age. I would also convince myself to go to college and get my education done earlier. 2. If you could take on thing from today and travel back in time (I'm on a time travel kick today), when would it be and what would you take? I would take my education back to me at age 24 and be that much ahead. 3. What has been your worst moment as an obese person? Best as a post-op patient? If you're not post-op what is the moment you're looking forward to? My worst moment was once my husband was joking but he implied that if he can't find the TV remote he would look in my fat rolls.....I was so hurt, and didn't speak to him for days and he had no idea why, until my sis in law told him he was a jerk. He has apologized a zillion times for that gaff. My best moment since surgery was today actually.....we took my 3 month photo and it was such a major improvement over my pre-op photo, I've been thrilled all evening. 4. What one event has strengthened your testimony more than any other? I suppose having kids....they really brought the love of Christ to me in such a personal way, I love my kids so much, and I know He loves me even more...and I wonder how He could. I mean, I ADORE my kids in every way. And knowing He loves me so, it makes sence that Christ would provide the gospel as a path for me to get back home again.

Thanks Sherrie! Indeed God is great! I was more amazed at the result of the prayer than I was the fact they couldn't do it. I do appreciate the prayers. They are working! I am enjoying keeping the food down! Grins, Kaye
