Hey all, Well it is Monday and Thursday is the day. Went to surgeons office on friday and found I had lost 7 more pounds with out even really trying. Been a rainy week and not much chance to ride hope it clears before Wednesday Night. Question how long did your doctor give you before you could ride again? Mine talked about driving and said 7-10 days. I forgot to ask about bike. (How could I have forgotten?) kicking self in butt. Thanks for the support and look forward to hearing from you.

RNY on 11/15/05 with
Robert; I would plan to be off your bike for 4-6 weeks. The muscles you use for balance and to hold your bike up at stop lights and such will be tender and you don't want to cause a hernia. Plus, on your bike, you never know when you're going to have to make a quick move and you don't want to not be able to because you're still tender. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 173 / 137

O Yeah! What Jenn said. I had surgery 11/18/05 I think was 2 months before I got on mine.. and its a big old heavy Roadstar so I had to be SURE I was ready... I was just gonna go for a "spin" in the "hood" but before I knew it... poof I was GONE!! Go back to older posts on this forum you will see my first "post op" gleeful post of riding... Best of luck and lots of prayers on your surgery ... You will be much happier on the Losers side...

I'm having my surgery in 7 days and was having exactly the same thought. I am anticipating some serious bike riding withdrawal post -op and knowing me I will likely be back on the bike in 2 weeks. However the thought of toppling off the bike with freshly healing stomach/intestinal staples is a bit scary and may serve to have a positive deterrant effect for a while. Not that one anticipates falling off the bike but you never know, the last thing I would want is to rupture my newly redesigned stomach in a fall. PS...best of luck on your surgery. Mark

I know the Angst that comes with sunny day and not able to ride. Hang in there .. it's all worth while. Cause we all know.. if you are not 100% on your game.. it can all go south in a heartbeat...

Wow....tomorrow the big day. Good luck to ya. You should give it at least 2 months before jumping back on the bike.
