Added pics of my Goldwing to my profile
I've been asked by a couple members to add pics of my Goldwing so I just added some to the end of my profile. I took a few during the day today and some more after it got dark to show the lights I've added to it. The ones taken in the dark didn't come out as well though.
I've been riding everyday now since I started three days ago. The weather has been beautiful here this week.
They call that color Illusion Blue because it looks black sometimes depending on the angle you look at it. The lights look a lot better in real life - I couldn't get the lights to look right in the camera.
It's very obvious you are into motorcycles from your profile.
I like you bike too. I like the Goldwing for the comfort but sometimes I'd like to have a bike like yours with a lower center of gravity too. I've owned many over the years. I used to have one that had slightly higher handlebars that let me lean back more - that's nice for long country drives too.
Here is Houston it's nice to take rides along the coast or through the country out toward Jasper. Someday I'd like to take a ride through the Hill Country though - I bet the rolling hills would make a ride a lot more fun.
Rick;
Hill Country riding is the best! Especially the Holy Trinity. Maybe we should plan an OH Hill Country ride as part of the San Antonio conference?
I can't believe you're already back on your bike at less than 2 weeks post-op. It took me months to get back on...I was very nervous about having enough strength.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I've driven through the Hill Country many times but always in a car or truck. Every time I do I think about how mice it would be to be driving the bike instead. I am a member of the Lion's Club and we volunteer at the Lion's Camp in Kerville a couple times a year. I've considered riding the bike there but never have yet. I know some of those offpthe-interstate backroad rides must be awsome! Where is the Holy Trinity - never been there.
I worked out on a Blowflex I bought for about 6 weeks before surgery and I think that helped a lot. I feel like I'm ready to start working out again but my doctor wants me to wait at least two weeks. Considering I feel ready for that, riding didn't seem like much. Maybe I'll run into you on a bike ride one of these days.
Rick;
Yeah, I've never had my bike on the interstate yet and it will be 2 years old next weekend.
The Holy Trinity is FM 335, FM 336, and FM 337. It's out past Kerrville, but it's a gorgeous ride. Make sure you gas up before you leave. Last time I did it with Michael, I think there's only one gas station along the way. Here's a link to a map: http://wowirondragons.org/holytrinitymap.html
If you do it in the fall, you've got to stop at Lost Maples. It's the closest we get to fall colors down here and it's awesome.
Regarding the Bowflex, listen to your doc. Take a few weeks off. The last thing you want is a hernia because you pushed yourself too hard in the early days. Stick with walking for exercise for a few weeks. You'll still drop tons of weight...especially being male and all. (It's so not fair how fast you guys lose!)
Blessings,
Jennifer

Thanks for the link! I've been to Lost Maples and Leakey a few times. I used to go to Rock Springs a lot. My dad owns a couple hundred acres in Hondo so I go there every now and then. That's almost 4 hours there alone but it would be nice to bring the bike on a trailer or maybe ride the bike and stay for a while. That trip plus the Holy Trinity all in one trip would be a lot.
Oops, I just noticed you are from Oregon so you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. For some reason i was thinking you were from Texas too. Jasper is northeast of Houston and a nice country drive with many trees and winding roads if you take the right routes. The Hill Country is part of Texas out toward San Antonio and further West and North of there. There are a lot of nice hill driving routes out that way.
