Boy, this place is quiet lately! To help liven it up a little, I've posted some pics on my profile that we took at the International Bike Show that we attended in Novi, MI, last weekend. We went on Sunday, which was evidently a good choice as the crowd was not bat at all. I spoke to a friend who went Saturday and he said he had to wait quite often to get on and look at particular bikes. We had a great time! I swear it took a couple hours after we left for the smile to start to leave my face. I was like a kid in a toy store - hey, big kid - big toys, right! If you have one of these coming within 2 to 3 hours of where you live, I highly recommend them. We are looking for another bike and this is the place to go to get on them and crawl around looking at the details. I guess in the warmer climates they even offer some demo rides. We're considering a Kawasaki Ninja 650R, so if anyone has any feeback for me I'd appreciate it. It is the first picture with my son on it and I believe there is a blue one in the album that has a trunk mounted on the back. Hopefully this link will go right to the album. http://www.obesityhelp.com/photos/uzone,photos/action,gallery/albumId,12985/ Enjoy! Matt

We bought a Nija 650r! Trying to not to break our budget, I've been watching e-bay for a use 2006 model. I became somewhat intrigued by some of the salvage bikes I've seen on there and in doing general searches of the net. Well, long story short, I stumbled on a 2007 in Califoria that has about $200 worth of damage to one of the plastic side pieces and a very small dimple (size of a dime and less that 1/16") in the side frame where a slider bracket twisted against it. The owner evidently side-swiped a car and it caught on the slider which was offset from the frame on a bracket (a weak method of attachment). So the insurance company totalled the bike for the small dimple in the frame. The purchase is being made from a Kawi dealer who races this model, has ridden it and certifies that the frame is still straight and true. The bike still has factory warranty till the end of September! So, I'm anxious to get it and for warmer weather to get here. Some bikes I would really be hesitant to buy, especially those involved in any kind of front end crash that affected the fork and quite possible the frame by tweaking the neck of the frame. I'll post a pic when I get it - probably two weeks or so. It is the same color as the blue one with the trunk in my bike show album - but this will not have a trunk. Matt

Hey, how is Gaylord!? I didnt make it to the motorcycle show when it was here in San Antonio. Of course when it was here, was before my motorcycle accident, so I wasn't really in the market.

Hey Mike, Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you weren't hurt! I take it your bike was as you kind of say your in the market now. That's too bad as it was a great lookin' Vulcan! I live down by Kalamazoo in southwest Michigan. It's truly confusing - Gaylord is in Otsego County, but the City and Township of Otsego are down here in Allegan County. But, regardless - it's cold and snowy today - about 16 degrees. We have about two feet of snow on the ground. The bike show was great as always. Sorry, but I already pulled the picks. This board has been really dead lately. On a good note, however, I am taking delivery on my new Ninja today. We've been waiting on the trucker as he broke down due to the cold. He should be here later today. I am hearing forecasts of 40's for next week, but I don't think I'll be able to get it out. I'm sure it will be a sloppy mess around here for a few weeks as it starts to thaw out. Take care and ride safe, Matt
